Yet another piece from the Distinction Gallery show. Oils on board. The photograph didn't come out well on this one. Doesn't do the original justice. I debated about even posting it. Might as well, right?
This piece is truly amazing, all of the elements blending together to create a masterpiece. The road, straight, angular, just like the radio, the tornado, twirling and curling, just like the girls hair. The depth in this picture is truly fantastic, and one must wonder, about how you say the photo did not to the picture justice. I can only imagine how wonderful this would be to see in person then, to be able to see so clearly the textures, which already show you have an excellent eye to detail. The two cars and the cow only add to the tragic reality of this picture, and the color in the sky perfectly replicates the real thing. You should be proud. Your light source is evident and clear, your shadows well proportioned, and your interpretation of human features is stunning. The dress is simple, only adding to the glory of the piece, along with the detail to the radio. Amazing amazing work! -Emily
It reminds me of the movie "A serous man " the ending ofcourse where there is a tornado coming from far and the boy standing and watching it come is listening to "somebody to love" by jefferson airplane , I don't know if you have heard the song or not but I really love it
as always, ur work inspires! beautifull contrasts, even though u say the photo doesn't do the original justice, it came out quite well... i found sumtimes a bit less actually work for the better...as it focuses the eyes on not just the colouring, but also the fore/background... love the word play on emergency broadcast while being in path of destruction....
all your pieces are amazing, seriously. I've worked with every media except painting, and you are one of my inspirations to start taking up the craft. You have some beautiful work.
have confidence in your work. I'm favoriting this
